This training will help participants to understand and address implicit biases, including where they come from and how they show up within our daily interactions with children, families, and others. Specifically, participants will learn about different types of biases, including racial, gender, and ability. Participants will have multiple opportunities to engage in self-reflection and practice using strategies to address implicit bias both personally and professionally.

Learners will:

  • Define a variety of implicit biases, including race and gender
  • Reflect on how implicit bias shows up personally and professionally
  • Use strategies to address implicit biases in their personal and professional lives
 

Who should attend: All staff of family resource centers (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), and other child and family-serving organizations.
