Training materials and resources for Culturally Responsive Family Engagement, presented by Educational Equity Institute on March 9, 2022

This training will provide participants with a greater understanding of culturally responsive family engagement practices. Participants will learn about culture, how children develop within the context of their cultures, and how current models of family engagement need a more including understanding about what it means to build authentic relationships with families from a variety of cultures. Finally, strategies for engaging families will be provided.

Learners will:

  • Describe culture, including the relationship between culture and child development.
  • Identify key barriers that prevent professionals from fully engaging families from a variety of cultures.
  • Identify strategies for engaging families from different cultural backgrounds.
