Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a short-term, structured, and intensive family therapy intervention for youth ages 11 to 18. It draws upon the family dynamic as a key mechanism for change in reducing adolescent behavioral and emotional concerns. This presentation will provide the audience with a brief overview of the model, the target population, expected outcomes, and implementation for success.
Learners will be able to:
- Determine if FFT is a good fit for their FFPSA programming
- List one requirement for successful FFT implementation
- Identify which families might benefit from FFT under FFPSA
Who should attend: County Prevention Teams and cross-sector partners, including staff of child welfare agencies, behavioral health agencies, probation, Child Abuse Prevention Councils, community-based service providers, family resource centers, Offices of Education, tribal partners, and parents/youth leaders with lived experience.
