Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development means having positive discipline techniques and appropriate developmental expectations. Join us as we discuss parenting practices that promote peace and lessons that explore the physical, emotional, and sexual development of children.
Learners will:
- Define the characteristics and skills related to knowledge of parenting and child development.
- Identify everyday actions that support knowledge of parenting and child development.
- Participate in activities that demonstrate knowledge of parenting and child development, for ourselves and for the families we serve, including those who have experienced trauma.
- Make a plan to incorporate this knowledge into your life and work.
Who should attend: All staff of family resource center (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), and other family-serving organizations.
